This Privacy Policy explains how PizzaCam.ca ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Messley Inc., collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the PizzaCam Guelph kiosk located at 149 Reynolds Walk, University of Guelph, Ontario, and the website pizzacam.ca.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Video and image recordings. The PizzaCam kiosk includes a camera ("Pizza Cam") that records video of customers who choose to perform in front of it while their pizza is being prepared. By stepping up to the Pizza Cam and performing, you acknowledge that you are being recorded.
- Transaction data. When you purchase a pizza, payment is processed through the kiosk's integrated payment terminal. We do not store credit card numbers, debit card numbers, or student pay credentials. Transaction data is handled by our third-party payment processor.
- Website analytics. When you visit pizzacam.ca, we may collect standard analytics data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring URL. This data is collected through third-party analytics services and is used to understand how visitors use our website.
- Contact information. If you email us (e.g., at hello@pizzacam.ca), we collect the information you provide in your message, including your email address.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Pizza Cam videos. Videos recorded by the Pizza Cam may be reviewed, edited, and posted to our social media accounts on TikTok (@pizzafornoguelph) and Instagram (@pizzafornoguelph), as well as on pizzacam.ca. We select and feature videos at our discretion. Featured videos may be used for promotional purposes.
- Website analytics. We use analytics data to understand traffic patterns, improve our website, and measure the effectiveness of our content.
- Communication. If you contact us, we use your information to respond to your inquiry.
3. The Pizza Cam — Recording and Consent
The Pizza Cam is a visible camera mounted on the PizzaCam kiosk. Signage at the kiosk indicates that the area is being recorded. By voluntarily stepping up to the Pizza Cam and performing (telling jokes, dancing, reacting, etc.), you consent to being recorded and to the potential use of that recording on our social media channels and website.
You are not required to use the Pizza Cam. You can purchase and enjoy your pizza without interacting with the camera.

4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- Social media platforms. Videos selected for posting are shared on TikTok and Instagram, which are governed by their own privacy policies.
- Service providers. We use third-party services for payment processing, website hosting (Netlify), and analytics. These providers only receive the data necessary to perform their services.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or in response to a valid legal request.
5. Data Retention
Pizza Cam recordings that are not selected for posting may be deleted at our discretion. Videos posted to social media remain on those platforms unless removed by us or at your request (see our Video Takedown Request page). Website analytics data is retained according to the policies of our analytics provider.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request removal of a video featuring you from our social media and website (see Video Takedown Request)
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of personal information we hold

7. Children's Privacy
The PizzaCam kiosk is located on a university campus and is intended for use by university students and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has been recorded by the Pizza Cam and their video has been posted, please contact us immediately at hello@pizzacam.ca and we will remove the content promptly.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
9. Third-Party Links
Our website and social media may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., TikTok, Instagram). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
